Compare demand and supply at different distances from price: what to take on the left, what on the right, and how to combine them.

Your own expression built from the two sides of the order book. You put it together from three parts:
Compare demand and supply at different distances from price. B&A and DIFF can't do this: there both sides are taken at the same depth.
For example.
The default setup is BID 1.5% − ASK 1.5%. Both sides at the same depth, which is the same as COIN B&A DIFF at 1.5%. A division example: BID 3% ÷ ASK 8% = 0.6 — near bids are 60% of far asks. With division the line is always positive.
| Field | Options | Default | What it changes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Market Type | SPOT FUTURES | SPOT | Whose order book to count: Binance spot or futures market. - Want the orders of those who buy the coin itself — SPOT. - Want the orders of those who trade with leverage — FUTURES. On Coinbase and Hyperliquid the switch has no effect: Coinbase is spot only, Hyperliquid is futures only, the value is set by the exchange automatically. |
| Ask Bid Type (left) | ASK BID DIFF | BID | What to take on the left: asks, bids or their difference. - Want to compare the skew at one depth with the skew at another — DIFF on both sides. |
| Percentage (left) | 1.5 · 3 · 5 · 8 · 15 · 30 · 60% | 1.5% | Depth for the left side. Near depths (1.5–5%) — orders right at price, they get filled first. Far depths (15–60%) — how much money is waiting in the whole band. |
| Operation Type | − ÷ | − | Subtract the right part from the left, or divide. With division the result is an absolute value — always positive. - Want to know how many dollars bigger one side is — “−”. - Want how many times bigger, regardless of the coin's size — “÷”. |
| Ask Bid Type (right) | ASK BID DIFF | ASK | What to take on the right: asks, bids or their difference. |
| Percentage (right) | 1.5 · 3 · 5 · 8 · 15 · 30 · 60% | 1.5% | Depth for the right side. |
| BTC Pairs | ALL USDT ONLY | ALL | Works only on Binance and only for BTC. ALL — the sum of three pairs: BTCUSDT + BTCUSDC + BTCFDUSD. USDT ONLY — the BTCUSDT pair only. For other Binance coins the data is always for the USDT pair; the parameter changes nothing. No effect on Coinbase and Hyperliquid: bitcoin has a single pair there — BTC/USD and BTC/USDC. - Want all of Binance bitcoin — ALL. - Want to compare with a source that counts only BTCUSDT — USDT ONLY. |
| Exchange | Chart Binance Coinbase Hyperliquid | Chart | Which exchange to take data from: Chart — the same one as the chart. Binance — spot and futures, USDT pairs. Coinbase — spot only, USD pairs. Hyperliquid — perpetual futures only, USDC pairs. Coinbase and Hyperliquid are available on paid plans (“Exchanges” screen). They have candles, trades and the order book. Derivatives, liquidations and loans show “no data” for them. - Want to compare one coin across exchanges — add the indicator several times and pick a different exchange in each. |
Metric COIN B&A DIFF SMART. Condition fields:
The same six settings as on the chart. “BTC pairs” appears only when the coin is BTC.
TOTAL B&A DIFF SMART — the same thing summed over the whole market. Adds the Total Type field.
DIFF SMART compares the two sides of the order book at different depths. You choose what to take on the left and right (ASK, BID or DIFF), at what depth, and the operation: subtract or divide. Demand at price bigger than supply far above it is an anomaly: the same money moves price up more than down. The alert has the same six fields.
Setup BID 3% ÷ ASK 8% gives…
Correct answer: Bids within 3% divided by asks within 8%
