Understand LONG/SHORT SIZE — how many dollars sit in longs and in shorts, and when to use it instead of RATIO.

How many dollars sit in longs and how many in shorts on Binance futures for this coin.
Where the numbers come from. SIZE = long share × the coin's open interest. The share is the same as in LONG/SHORT RATIO; Source picks its source. Open interest is the coin's entire OI. A 55% share with OI of $2B: longs $1.1B, shorts $0.9B, DIFF +$200M.
It's an estimate, not an exact count. The share comes from the selected group, while OI covers all positions. It's most accurate with TOP POSITIONS: there the share is already by money. With ALL ACCOUNTS and TOP ACCOUNTS the share is by heads, and SIZE shows how much would be in longs if money were split the same way as accounts.
See how much money is behind a skew. The percentage is the same, but the money behind it can be ten times more or less.
For example.
RATIO or SIZE. RATIO is percentages, the same scale for any coin: use it to compare the crowd with large traders and coins with each other. SIZE is this coin's dollars: use it to see how much is behind the skew. For an alert on one coin — SIZE; for comparisons across the market — RATIO.

Metric LONG/SHORT SIZE. Condition fields:
Market Type — FUTURES only. “Output” — LONG / SHORT / DIFF.
TOTAL LONG/SHORT SIZE — the same for the whole market.
SIZE is the money in longs and shorts on a coin: long share × open interest. By default it shows the difference, DIFF: above zero — more money in longs. It's an estimate, most accurate with TOP POSITIONS. RATIO is percentages, comparable across coins; SIZE is dollars, the weight of the skew on this coin.
How is LONG/SHORT SIZE different from LONG/SHORT RATIO?
Correct answer: It shows dollars (share × OI), not percentages
